Reducing Data Maintenance and IT Efforts While Improving User Experience. An interview with Marek Kulikowski, CEO of meinfenster24.

Expanding the Online Shop with SDK at meinfenster24

Bauelementehandel Kulikowski operates one of the largest online shops for windows, doors, and roller shutters in Germany with its product range on meinfenster24.de, attracting over 70,000 visitors per month and serving more than 750,000 customers. The company's success in recent years has been based not only on affordable products but also increasingly on its own shipping service, which enabled fast and flexible deliveries.

Looking to expand the existing online shop, meinfenster24 decided to use the Software Development Kit (SDK) provided by our platform as an enhanced service. This allows for easy integration of product information and configurators into existing systems. By using the SDK, products can be seamlessly integrated into an online shop and embedded into the existing design without any process disruptions.

This was an important requirement for the planned project, as Mr. Kulikowski explains:

"For us, it was crucial that all products could be merged into the existing shopping cart and displayed, creating a uniform and seamless shopping experience for the visitor."

In addition to the option of independently managing products, product and price information can also be directly obtained from the marketplace, which is provided and maintained by the respective suppliers. This enables a quick and easy setup without the need to create all products independently.

"By directly retrieving product information from our suppliers through the marketplace, we eliminate the need for ongoing price and data maintenance, which saves us a lot of time while also eliminating the risk of data discrepancies that can occur with manual data maintenance."

The SDK is designed for ease of use while offering a high degree of flexibility. The integration into meinfenster24’s shop solution was completed in just three steps:

  1. Retrieving and embedding product information such as graphics, names, and technical specifications into the product overview
  2. Embedding the product configurator
  3. Retrieving and passing the configuration with product sketch, description, and price to the shopping cart

"The full integration from product selection to adding the configuration to the shopping cart was completed through the simple and intuitive handling of the SDK in just a few hours."
